Where it began
The original Rent-A-Wreck Kauai
Long before we held the keys, this little company built something rare: a reputation for honesty. According to public records, the Rent-A-Wreck name has stood for affordable, dependable used-car rentals since the late 1960s — a friendly alternative to the big national chains.
On Kauai, that idea found a perfect home. Over the years, many visitors came to associate Rent-A-Wreck Kauai with budget-friendly freedom — and especially with its fleet of older Toyota Echos. The philosophy was simple: visitors should remember the island, not the badge on the hood.

According to public records, the Rent-A-Wreck brand began in Los Angeles, offering honest, affordable used cars when the big chains only rented new. The name was always a wink — the cars ran great; they just didn't cost a fortune.

When our family purchased the business, we made a promise not to erase what came before. The goal was never to replace Rent-A-Wreck Kauai — it was to carry it forward: keep the affordability and aloha, and bring the experience into the modern era.

The heart of it
Our storyTwo brothers, two sisters, one island
This is the part we love to tell. Two twin brothers grew up in North Carolina and felt the pull of Kauai. On the island, they met two local twin sisters — born and raised here — through Kauai Christian Fellowship. The brothers married the sisters, and Kauai became home for good.
Today, all four of us are still here: raising the next generation on this island, supporting local businesses, leaning on our faith, and serving visitors with the same genuine aloha we were welcomed with.
